How We Make Money
Medicaid Basics is free to use. Here is exactly how the site is funded, and how that funding never affects what we publish.
Display advertising
We show display ads (starting with Google AdSense) on most content pages. These ads are served by third-party ad networks and are not on our eligibility calculator or lead-capture pages.
Senior-care referral fees
On pages about the cost of nursing homes and assisted living, we link to senior-care placement services (such as A Place for Mom and Caring.com). If you request information through one of those links, we may receive a referral fee from the provider. This does not affect what you pay, and it does not affect our eligibility or cost information, which is sourced independently.
Email list
If you sign up for our free eligibility checklist or other resources, we may occasionally recommend other resources by email. We do not sell your email address.
Attorney directory (planned)
We plan to offer a flat-fee directory listing for elder law attorneys. Any listed attorney will pay a flat advertising fee; we do not match cases, take a percentage of any fee, or claim to find you "the best" attorney. This directory is attorney advertising, not a referral service, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
What none of this changes
Advertising and referral relationships never determine which facts we publish, which states we cover, or what our eligibility content says. Every dollar figure and eligibility rule on this site comes from the state or federal program itself, not from an advertiser.
